Historical Embroidery and Needlework
Four one day needlework and embroidery workshops instructed by Bunty Severs.
Bunty lives in Newfoundland. She is a past president of the Embroiderers' Association of Canada.
Bunty has taught fibre arts at college level for 20 years with branches of the technical college system in Newfoundland and colleges in all provinces of Canada and Australia.
She teaches annually at national and international conferences on textiles and embroidery as a guest instructor.
She is a freelance fibre artist and fashion designer, working in silk and specializing in work with pure metal threads on fabric. An award-winning fibre artist, her one-of-a-kind work has been shown in fashion and gallery shows in several provinces. Among her special interests are the study of historical embroidery such as Victorian White Work techniques and 18th century corded quilting which she has taught in Victoria, B.C. at the EAC conference, and one-of-a-kind clothing design with historical embellishment.
