I am in wonder when it comes to the amazing landscape that surrounds our environment in Newfoundland. There are so many places that are so beautiful in our province and trying to capture the essence of that beauty has been a passion for me. I have always been in love with the architecture that can be seen throughout our province and I try to depict those unique structures that seem to tell our history.

I can remember when I was a little girl walking to the local store to buy something for my grandmother and feeling the quiet and serenity that enveloped me as I walked to my destination. The sun shinning on a simple flower, the smell of the ocean, the sense of peace and mystery when walking in the fog all are feelings I’d like to capture in my work.

I discovered Trinity many years ago and was completely fascinated with how the community was designed. Trinity is full of roads that twist and turn with houses perched here and there in odd little places along with little lanes tucked between houses and gardens full of promise. It has only been recently that I’ve been able to develop a series of work devoted to Trinity. I have been trying to capture the mood of this place in my work and create a sense of peace and security that I experienced as a little girl.
