Ruby LeRiche Beaumont was born and raised in Port Aux Basques. She has lived in Grand Falls, Corner Brook and has made St. John's her home for the past 15 years. Ruby has been an Art Teacher with Eastern School Board since 1994. She holds bachelor degrees in Fine Arts and Education from Memorial University and a Masters of Education degree from Mount St. Vincent University, Halifax.
Ruby has been making art for over 40 years. Although she uses many mediums such as printmaking, sculpture, pottery, and photography, her first love is painting. Her work is a combination of realism and surrealism. Ruby is inspired by the rugged Newfoundland landscape. She has exhibited in several solo shows as well as many group shows. Her work has been displayed in the following locations: Sir Wilfred Grenfell Gallery, MUN Botanical Garden Gallery, Eastern Edge Gallery, Rouge Gallery, Devon House Gallery, the Resource Center for the Arts, The Franklin Gallery, Shark Cove Gallery, Edwin Gallery and The Rooms
